Join us for the 4rd edition of LJUBLJANA ART WEEKEND 2025!
Ljubljana Art Weekend is back with its fourth edition from 23rd to 25th May 2025. For the second year in a row the team behind ETC. Magazine will take over the artistic direction of our programme. There will be plenty of talks, walks and everything in between – join us as we discuss and examine the topic of the fourth edition of ETC., Comfort Zone, which explores ways of understanding comfort and security and how they are conceived in the frameworks of family, love, friendship and community.
Inside the sphere of intimacy and community, we’re interested in the myriad ways kinship is formed in families both biological and chosen. From open relationships to throuples, how has the relationship unit changed and what kind of dilemmas does it open? Is there a future for the conventional nuclear family and why are tradwives becoming a lifestyle brand? Despite the effort toward body positivity, how difficult is it to feel comfortable in one’s own skin? And how does our own relationship with the body translate into sex and kink? What kind of togetherness is formed in the digital sphere and does it open new possibilities of coexisting or hinder old ones? When homes are lost in conflicts and disasters, entire communities displaced, how can a zone of comfort be made anew? In parallel to the sphere of human relationships, comfort is packaged and sold, commodified to push products and promised to us in the forms of period pads, streaming platforms and comfort foods. Is materialism an acceptable refuge or is it paralysing us into Wall-E’s post-apocalyptic space humans? Are we not comfortable enough or too much so for our own good? In this issue, we seek to explore comfort and care as struggles for physical, sexual and emotional liberation, as well as the often dangerous consequences of retreating into our comfort zones.
Stay tuned for more updates on our website as well as on social media and mark your calendars. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Interview
ETC. is an international art magazine published once a year with the aim of creating a medium for showcasing current international and local artistic production as well as establishing a common space in the field of emerging arts ‘from the Balkans to the Baltics’, as their tagline goes.
For the next three years, ETC. Magazine is taking over the artistic direction of LJUBLJANA ART WEEKEND. As our young platforms share many of the same viewpoints and objectives, we decided to join forces and connect the publication’s topic with our Art Weekend programme.
During the preparation of this year's edition, which is thematically connected to the next issue of the magazine, titled Selling Out, we sat down with ETC.’s curator, Lara Mejač, to talk about this year’s programme as well as their vision for future editions.
