Production spaces of contemporary art

Produkcijski prostori sodobne umetnosti

Curated by Tjaša Pogačar
Voden sprehod s Tjašo Pogačar

Adequate working spaces are one of the key conditions for the production of contemporary art. How do artists in Ljubljana connect and organize themselves to provide suitable working conditions in the context of rising real estate prices and a general shortage of space for independent cultural activities? On a guided walk, emerging artists, creative initiatives, and independent organizations will open the doors of their workspaces and discuss ways to overcome the spatial problems that plague the artistic community in Ljubljana.

Tjaša Pogačar is an independent curator of contemporary art and co-founder and editor-in-chief of Šum, a journal and platform for art and theory-fiction. She is a curator of ISKRA DELTA - 34th Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts (2021) and ZONE1, a section for emerging artists from Austria at the viennacontemporary art fair (2022). Since 2020 she is a curator-producer for new media and visual art at Projekt Atol Institute and runs an offsite/online curatorial project Plaza Protocol. In 2023 she curates also with Kunsthalle Bratislava.

FROM BEGINNING TO END – if the beginning is an art school and the end is a collection but since we all know that there is no beginning and no end: HERE WE ARE NOW

OD ZAČETKA DO KONCA – če je začetek šola umetnosti in konec umetniška zbirka, a ker vsi vemo da ni pravega začetka in ne konca: TU SMO ZDAJ
