Heritage
Dediščina

25/05 – 08/07/2022

The sixth anniversary of the DobraVaga Gallery is inspired by the recent inclusion of Jože Plečnik's architectural works on the UNESCO World Heritage List UNESCO. This includes the premises inhabited by DobraVaga, which fills us with a new awareness of the permanent and less permanent significance of our work. This anniversary is therefore an opportunity to reflect on this heritage in all its different meanings – from the cultural to the environmental, social and personal. The main exhibition is again commercial, and like every year, a series of dynamic accompanying events is in the pipeline again!

25/05 – 11/06/2022

As part of the sixth anniversary of DobraVaga Gallery, Ema Maznik Antić presents her first solo exhibition in the Artist per Month space. Her work focuses on banal found objects, seriality and repetition. She makes objects that resemble fossils or the remains of something that is just taking shape. In the exhibition, we find ourselves in a situation reminiscent of an abandoned space that we would probably never enter. The abandoned room seems like a document in which we find serially produced objects of indeterminate form and unknown function. In the given situation, they suggest that they are not yet fully developed.

Vita Eva Weisseisen: I'm Just an Average Runner

25/05 – 27/06/2022

I Just an Average Runner is a sequel to the zine Running Diary, which features a stream of consciousness during and after running, the title also referring to the short film I am Just an Average Slovenian. In it, the artist claims that her desires, which she often refers to as needs, are not far from the average expectations of Slovenian society. But her works subtly suggest that her desires mean more to her and are not just material; they are interwoven with the sentimental and the spiritual. A garden and a forest are two things that have accompanied the artist since childhood and have also appeared as themes in her work for some time. The photos, drawings and texts tell a story of dreaming of being alone in the security of home and nature, whereby the boundary between reality and utopia is often shifted.
