The exhibition Seeing red explores not only its "self", the red within the red, but also various applications and materialisations of red, unhesitatingly traversing different fields from classical painting, printmaking and photography, to purely conceptual uses in doing so.

Red is a "concept" rather than a metaphor, it is a substance rather than an expression, it is a media fluid into which every substance and image can be immersed. What distinguishes it from digital images in the visual arts is the constant tendency not only to use it as a drawing surface for some contextual use but to give it – as if it were a functioning substance – a living and unique presence in contemporary art.
