Welcome to the first edition of Ljubljana Art Weekend, a three-day event that connects the most important venues of contemporary art in the city.

Like its numerous European models, the Ljubljana Art Weekend initiative aims to bring together organisations and institutions, galleries, museums and project spaces dedicated to the presentation and promotion of contemporary art, thus contributing to the consolidation of the local art scene and promotion of its plurality and vitality. With a wide-ranging programme that includes presentations by local and foreign artists, we aim to lay the foundations for discussion and dialogue, while giving a diverse audience from different backgrounds the opportunity to get to know the continually growing and tireless contemporary art production.

In cooperation with 35 partners, we have prepared a dynamic programme of more than 100 exhibitions, openings, guided tours with curators, expert-led tours, workshops, round tables, performances and talks with artists, more than 300 of whom, are part of Ljubljana Art Weekend as a whole. Art lovers, artists, curators, the general public and collectors are cordially invited to visit the exhibitions and the extended accompanying programme during the long weekend from 27 to 29 May, when all visitors will also be admitted free of charge at least between 12 and 6 pm. At some venues, exhibitions and other accompanying content will also be on view outside the above-mentioned opening hours, so please follow the programmes and schedules of the individual partners closely.

Dobrodošli na prvi, tridnevni ediciji dogodka Ljubljana Art Weekend, ki bo povezal ključna prizorišča sodobnih umetnosti našega mesta.

Iniciativa Ljubljana Art Weekend si podobno kot njene številne evropske paralele prizadeva združiti organizacije in institucije, galerije, muzeje in projektne prostore, posvečene predstavitvi in promociji sodobnih umetnosti ter tako prispevati h krepitvi lokalne umetniške scene, njene pluralnosti in živosti. Z razvejanim programom, ki vključuje predstavitve tako domačih kot mednarodnih umetnikov, želimo vzpostaviti temelje za razpravo in dialog, obenem pa je bistveno, da raznovrstnim javnostim z raznovrstnimi ozadji zagotovimo možnost od blizu spoznati tukajšnjo nenehno rastočo in neutrudno sodobno umetnostno produkcijo.

V sodelovanju s 35 partnerji smo pripravili dinamičen program več kot 100 razstav in odprtij, vodstev s kuratorji, strokovnih vodstev, delavnic, okroglih miz, performansov ter pogovorov z umetnicami in umetniki; teh na celotnem Ljubljana Art Weekend sodeluje več kot 300. Ljubitelje umetnosti, umetnike, kuratorje, širšo strokovno javnost in zbiratelje toplo vabimo, da se nam pridružite ter obiščete razstave in njihov pripadajoči razširjeni program ob podaljšanem koncu tedna med 27. in 29. majem, ko bo vsaj med 12. in 18. uro vsem obiskovalcem zagotovljen tudi prost vstop. Razstave in druge spremljevalne vsebine bodo na nekaterih prizoriščih na ogled tudi zunaj omenjenih odpiralnih časov, zato vas prijazno vabimo, da pozorno spremljate tudi programe in urnike posameznih partnerjev.
