A selection of works from the national collection of Museum of Modern Art
Razstava del iz nacionalne zbirke Moderne galerije
The exhibition 20th Century. Continuities and Ruptures breaks with traditional linearity by introducing the themes of the 20th-century avant-gardes and the art of partisan resistance, placing them on an equal footing with the better-known currents in national art history and thus shedding new light on them.
The exhibition begins with the entry of modernism into Slovenian art and ends with the Ten Days War for Slovenian independence. The main novelties in this exhibition are the presentation of the avant-garde of the 1920s and the second reconstruction of the Trieste Constructivist Space (1927) headed by Dragan Živadinov and Miha Turšič (Delak Production House).
