Iris Pokovec: Are We Happy Yet? Is It Done?

27/05 – 22/06/2022

Iris Pokovec is a visual artist whose work explores the relationship between current consumer sculpture, 21st-century marketing slogans and contemporary popular nihilism. To realise this project, the artist has used the particularities of the exhibition space (5 windows of the Pešaki building) for a voyeuristic viewing of the manifestation of the commandments of today, when the mantra of suffocating positivity has become a social norm that has lost its meaning and has become alien to its own self.

You are welcome to visit the exhibition, especially at dusk when the lights in the windows switch on. Binoculars are also available.

OPENING HOURS:
Every day, from dusk to 1AM

Night Window Display Gallery Pešak cannot be entered. The artworks are located behind five windows and are visible from a public area. The invited artists present works created specifically for this space. The exhibition programme follows the concept of combining classical art forms (sculpture, painting, comics, illustration, photography) and contemporary media, with the aim of effectively using light media as a means of expression. The gallery promotes contemporary, relevant ideas, thoughtful, engaging concepts, approaches and visions, classical and (moderately sophisticated) technical installations that coexist within contemporary art.
