Open Time – Performing with and for the camera
Group exhibition Skupinska razstava

Artists Umetnice_ki: Artun Alaska Arasli, Jivan van der Ende, Wally Stevens Julius Thissen, Moniek Toebosch, Ulay, Evelyn Taocheng Wang, Albert van Westing

26/05 – 26/06/2022

Open Time explores the question of representation behind the camera in the medium of performance. Performing with and for the camera, the surface of the photographic image becomes the site that captures the event. Ulay described the body as the ultimate artistic medium. The act of performing for the camera is intimately intertwined with the photographic process itself. This intergenerational exhibition focuses on performance, photography and documentation with a group of artists that reflect the larger context of Ulay in the Netherlands.
The exhibition is curated by Bas Hendrikx.

Razstava Open Time raziskuje vprašanje reprezentacije za kamero v mediju performansa. Medgeneracijska razstava, posvečena uprizarjanju, fotografiji in dokumentaciji skupine umetnikov, odraža širši kontekst Ulayevega delovanja na Nizozemskem.
Razstavo je kuriral
Bas Hendrikx.

The ULAY Foundation is dedicated to preserving the unique artistic oeuvre and legacy of the legendary artist ULAY (Frank Uwe Laysiepen, 1943–2020). It works between Amsterdam and Ljubljana, the cities Ulay called "home", and takes care of the presentation, contextualisation and reflection of the artist's work. From October 2019 to October 2021, the Foundation ran its project space in Ljubljana, which focused primarily on activities for young people and their empowerment through selected exhibitions and educational programme.
