On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the beginning of the war and the arrival of migrants from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Slovenia, we take a look at our common but little-known experience through the personal memories of migrants and the people who welcomed them. The exhibition, which compiles personal recollections of 45 people with selected media reports and other documents, is divided into two parts, one in the Match Gallery and one in the Vodnik Homestead Gallery, where the focus is on the spaces and activities that allowed migrants with their enormous cultural capital to express themselves and create. The memories collected encourage us to reflect on our actions and attitudes towards people forced to leave their homes around the world.

Since 2015, the Vodnik Homestead Gallery has been located in the Vodnik Homestead, a house of reading, writing and storytelling, with a programme dedicated to illustration and comics. With a regular programme of exhibitions by the best-known authors of the older and younger generations and the combination of visual art and literature, it is a place that contributes significantly to the recognition of illustration and its creators. With its popular annual Illustration Fair in December and a permanent sales corner, it is also a central point of sale for original works in the field of illustration.
