LJUBLJANA ART WEEKEND

Getting Here

Ljubljana is easily accessible by air, train or bus. Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport is just 25 minutes from the city centre. Taxis are available outside the terminal for €25–45, while the Nomago shuttle offers a direct and affordable transfer for €12. For travellers arriving from neighbouring countries, Zagreb Airport is around 1 hour and 45 minutes away, and Venice Marco Polo Airport is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes by car.

The city is also well-connected by rail and bus. Trg Osvobodilne fronte serves as the main hub for local buses and trains, making it easy to reach the city centre and beyond. Slovenske železnice (Slovenian Railways) provides fast and scenic connections to major Slovenian cities, as well as neighbouring countries. Bus services from nearby towns also provide regular, convenient options for visitors without a car.
Getting Around

Ljubljana’s public transport network, operated by LPP, is simple and reliable. A single ticket costs €1.50 and is valid for 90 minutes, and tickets can be purchased using contactless payment or an Urbana card. Bus routes cover the city extensively, allowing easy access to major attractions, cultural sites and event venues.

For those who prefer to explore actively, BicikeLJ offers city bike rentals. Weekly membership costs €1, with the first hour free, making it a convenient and affordable way to discover Ljubljana’s streets, riverbanks and charming neighbourhoods.

Taxis are available throughout the city. The base fare ranges from €0.80–1.50, with a per-kilometre rate of €0.70–1.70. Taxis are especially convenient for quick transfers after events or later in the evening. We suggest using City Taxi or Metro Taxi

Practical

The local currency is the Euro (€), and English is widely spoken, particularly in tourist areas. In case of emergency, dial 112 for police, fire or medical assistance.
