The exhibition Picture (A) City that connects the works of over 50 artists and activists, will critically examine the changes in the use of public space in Ljubljana over the past years and historically shed light on key issues related to these changes. These include political geography, housing problems, (infra)structural violence, touristification, gentrification, as well as natural conditions, gardens, parks, and urban heritage.

A selection of works from Moderna galerija’s Arteast 2000+ and national collections plus special projects. The selection encourages parallel readings of history, with an emphasis on local knowledge situated within a broader context, particularly in that part of the world we refer to as the East.

Parts of this selection are the exhibitions »Sam Durant: Monuments, Plans and Utopias« and »Weaving Worlds: Collections in Conversation«.
