Re-enchantment and collective action in digital art

Join us for a curated guided tour which will offer an insight into local digital and new media art production through the work of organisations of Projekt Atol, Ljudmila, and Aksioma.

First, we will visit osmo/za project space and KRES 2.0: The Fiery Spirit of Digital Unity exhibition, in which Slovenian emerging digital artists reclaim the radical traditions of May Day bonfires to confront hustle culture, digital alienation, and the erosion of workers’ rights. After that, we will step into Aksioma and visit the EVA (Evil Vibrant Astute) 2.0 exhibition by Socrates Stamatatos and Joanna Bacas, in which artists invite visitors to crouch down and play as they did when they were children. In the interaction with a large-scale installation, the visitors can exchange theory and media on topics like girlhood, feminism, re-enchantment and technology.

Alongside the current exhibitions, we will also talk about other projects of these initiatives, as well as their approaches to nurturing a supportive environment for the development of digital and new media art practices in Slovenia and abroad.
