CANCELED!
The artwalk with Mara Ambrožič Verderber is unfortunately canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.
ARTWALK: A walk through Ljubljana's landmarks, created in the capital by artists and architects from Slovenian Istria
Curated by Mara Ambrožič Verderber
@Meeting Point: Prešeren Square
The Director of the Piran Coastal Galleries will present an independent view of the locations we think we are very well familiar with, by walking through some of the key urban and architectural points of the city, which are in some shape or form connected to the creators from Slovenian Istria. The program was prepared in collaboration with Matic Bukovec, an assistant for the OGP program since 2021, who will join the art history aspect of the walk. The art historical aspect of the walk will be complemented by the director's insights into the management of one of Slovenia's major institutions of modern and contemporary art at a time when the conversation about the task of decentralising the Slovenian cultural landscape is becoming increasingly welcomed.
The walk will end with a glass of Vinakoper refosco (RE MAGGIORE by Sara, Sound experience).
Places are limited. Registration required at hello@ljubljanaartweekend.com.
Please note that Artwak will be conducted in English.

Matej Andraž Vogrinčič: Trip (5’)
@Cukrarna Gallery, Courtyard, Poljanski nasip 40
The evocatively titled Trip is a happening by Matej Andraž Vogrinčič, the second part of a trilogy concerned with the mental and physical space of Cukrarna and its surroundings. For the spatial intervention On the Way, the artist used the crushed brick tiles left over from the renovation of the building, while for his new project, he collected thousands of maple seeds in the vicinity of Cukrarna over a period of almost two years. Before our eyes, the artist will transpose these so-called flying seeds, with their specific shape and ability to fly, into a suspended state of travelling around the space. The seeds will "fly out" of the time collector and attempt to elicit transience, time and travel in our minds through their poetic journey as the beginning of something new and unrepeatable.
Maximum number of participants: 30. Registration required: info@cukrarna.art.

Curated by: das Garage
@Triplex garage III, Topniška Street
Dronišnica is an experimental audiovisual trio consisting of Oskar Kandare, Simon Turnšek and Lan Štokelj Wu. Modular synthesizers and powerful amplifiers create dense drones that are capable of rapid transformation into pure noise, generating visual images that are subject to sound manipulation. So far, they have performed at many national and international festivals and events. They have performed at the Sajeta festival (2022), Clockwork Voltage (2022), MODXMOB in Nova Gorica (2023), INDIGO festival in Cukrarna (2023) and in the Špitalska kapela in Celje (2023)

Sanja Nešković Peršin: The Moment Before (60’)
Curated by: Yasmín Martín Vodopivec
Following the traces of her earlier works, artist Sanja Nešković Peršin ventures into the most mysterious regions of artistic creation. Using performative film and live performance, she imaginatively creates a sensual cacophony, exploring in this realm the longing and trauma that inevitably accompany the deeply rooted pursuit of excellence.
